Leaving on a jet plane to County Mayo, Ireland for a week. Well, I was gonna do some blogging from there. Really. Then I found out that the cottage we’re staying at doesn’t have wifi. That’s the Old Country for ye. Maybe there’s an internet cafe but you know what? Screw it. I’ve got the week off.

Looks like we’ll have typical Irish summer weather. Rain every day and high of 68 degrees. Too bad I packed all of my summer clothes before checking that.

I’ll take some iPhone pics because I’m not even bringing my camera.

Meanwhile, work continues at the Rockaway house. The crew is keep on keeping on.

See ya Monday the 27th!

Your image of Ireland is completely wrong I’m afraid. The cottage you are renting may not have Wifi but Ireland has some excellent Wifi:) The weather is pretty good here at the moment too with some rain but it’s quiet hot at the moment.

Americans in general seem to see Ireland as only greenery and hills and it’s not like that at all. Mayo is a beautiful part of Ireland and I suggest you visit Westport, I really love that place.

I would have responded sooner but it’s been difficult picking up wifi.

My husband is from Dublin so I’ve been visiting Ireland once or twice a year for the past 25 years. Difference of opinion? Perhaps. Completely wrong? Not in my opinion.

What would I know, I only live here:)

You can find the same greenery and lack of wifi in the States I am sure. Dublin is far from countryside and lack of wifi.

Americans perception of Ireland in general is wrong. If I was to judge america on what I see in the news and from what I saw when living there (in places) it might not be a nice picture.

We don’t have leprechauns or the likes and while we’re blessed with amazing countryside and gun laws we tend not to use it as a tourist attraction.
