I am so absolutely amazed at how dumb some people can actually be that they do not recognize a great home when they see one! I am one of the neighbors to this beautiful home and I cannot stand it that I can't buy it myself. We already own a home and it's quite a handful for us but why someone wants to sit on their hands while letting this unique opportunity to own one of only a handful of the most beautiful homes for MILES!

As neighbors we would hated to see such great people move out but being born and raised in Brooklyn, I can understand the pull for them. (and practicality as well)

We love our house, and we also love this other one so much as well. I wish we could own both! This is really turnkey and the city of Beacon is really a great and convenient place to live. You could NEVER afford such a home if you saw it in some pockets in Flatbush near some of the old historic Dutch homesteads because this house there would cost over a million or close! It's the real deal and has features other homes on the same street do not have like a generous driveway (for that road) and a fantastic well kept, planned garden ready for you to just sit and relax.

As for convenience, man! The Metro North train is a very short 12 min walk (you can drive to a large parking lot if you wanted to and pay only about three friggin dollars to park for 16 hours!!

You could own (read it... O-W-N !!) your home instead of throw all your money down the drain while you live in a hot rented box that takes as long to get to on the broken down trains as it does to get to your fabulous home in the fresh air!

If you have had your fill of the city, which I happen to love as well but can't afford to own anything in, then check out this once in a lifetime opportunity!

How funny - I've visited your site before, of course, but I never realized where you live. I just hopped over here after reading your comment about moving back to Brooklyn. I know exactly which house this is! We've been watching and admiring the work you've been doing on it for quite some time now, and it's a treat to see the inside. You've done a really beautiful job.

Interested in buying my own house? Nah, but if you're serious, I might be able to find a fourth.

Keep in mind that it could easily be converted into a B&B or 2 family! Just sayin'.....

I believe there are 2 lots up for sale next door. Because it's an historic district, they are limited by what they can build.

Here's the listing: http://www.trulia.com/property/39823491-37-North-Ave-Beacon-NY-12508

There may be two single family Victorians that would be built to resemble the surrounding homes.

The main problem I foresee with that is it will be noisy while they're building. I went to the meeting to see what this property is all about and I was assured that there is space between my house and next door. I was also pleased to find out that the driveway will be on the other side of the house.

Will it be fugly? Probably. But at least it won't be a huge McMansion or an apartment complex.

Hope this helps!
