You can get the troll that lives under the bridge to spray the grounds for ticks ;)

Judd, it's clear the house needs to be renovated. Until I see it in person, I can't make a call whether or not it's worth renovating.

Unfortunately, tick borne diseases are a fact of life in that neck of the woods. As freaked out and angry I am about losing my dog to Lyme disease, it won't stop me from going to the country. Hey, you can catch something anywhere or slip in your tub. Can't stop living!

BB, do you know the area or did you look at a satellite photo? I saw some multi families and townhouses listed. Going to be interesting to see in person!

PS: Looove the tiles!!

There are some major sized houses surrounding that one. The property looks good with all that pond frontage and that bridge is sweet. But what's up with the water lines? Dry well or frozen pipes?
Take copious notes and photos and report back!

Love the blog. But, can't agree with you on this one...it looks like it was built in 1976. I can see the vinyl siding from here...and look at those casement windows. No way that is vintage. Too wide vs. long. Proportions are off...and that property...yeah it's nice if you wanna come back with 2 or 3 tick-borne diseases.

It looks like Metro North to Poughkeepsie is the closest. I can pick you up there, but if you want to see other places or do other stuff, there's a Trailways bus to Kingston or Amtrack to Rhinecliff.

Oh yeah, I didn't think of dead animals. Only live ones.

I'm only familiar with the Village of Millbrook and the winery. I looked at a map and some other listings. This place might be on the wrong side of the tracks, if there's such a thing in Millbrook. I'll look anyway! Day trip, Judy??
