Oh, we already have a bunch of blue stone piled up in our own backyard.

I'm concerned we'll be dreaming about our deck until next spring. We haven't done anything yet.

I have about 15 garden design books and various other how to go books and have never actually used any of them. Our garden has evolved organically by going to various nurseries on a sunny day (love the sunset gardens one in red hook) and finding things that we liked. Also Get thee to the free tree giveaway--they had a bunch of them this spring and may have another round in the fall. Ask your neighbors for some of their blue stone that they no doubt have piled up some where and create a great walkway. and let us know how it goes with the deck--I have been dreaming of mine for 4 years!

I actually would quite seriously love to help. It looks like it's mostly shade? Hostas and seagrasses, in my (limited) experience, are pretty full-proof and after a couple of years really fill out nicely.
