There’s a movement to get rid of Columbus Day and make it Indigenous People Day. Instead of going all preachy on y’all, I’ll refer you to the Reconsider Columbus Day and Ian Clark video.
Happy 3 day weekend!

The checklist H.I.R.E. was hilarious!
While I wholeheartedly agree with every point he was making in that video and would sign a petition right now to rescind Columbus Day as a national holiday, I feel that the name “Indigenous People Day” would not quite work out for 3 reasons:
1. The majority of Americans can’t pronounce “indigenous”
2. The majority of Americans can’t spell “indigenous”
3. The majority of Americans probably don’t even know what the hell “indigenous” means
Let’s keep it dumbed down a little. It’s been working so well for all of the years. Too much change at once CAN’T be a good thing.
I had to spell check “indigenous”. 🙂
How about “Native Amercian Day”?
or
“Amerkin Injun Day”?
