We’re off to Stowe, Vermont for a (hopefully) relaxing weekend. Staying at this place, which looks quite nice. If you know of any summer festivities in that area, let us know! Flea markets? Thrift shops? Wonderful veg-friendly restaurants? Good dog hikes?
Happy Monday….MY BIRTHDAY!!!

If you’ve never been, Shelburne Farms is a must (check their website for special events). It was built by one of the Vanderbuilts as an agrarian experiment. The structures on the property are UNBELIEVABLE. For instance the horse barn was the largest wood structure in the world when built. The Inn has a fantastic restaurant that has hosted events for Slow Food. Saturday evenings in the summer features Mozart outdoors on the lawn which stretches down toward Lake Champlain.
In Bristol try Mary’s at The Inn at Baldwin Creek they also have special food centric events.
Thanks, HDL. That sounds perfect!!!
Oh, and Happy B-Day!
BTW the horse barn was not the largest wood structure in the world but the largest open-span wooden structure in America. Sorry for the mistake.
THANKS!!!
We didn’t get to Shelbourne Farms. We had 1 day of nice weather. 🙁
