During our first temporary/renovation move to Bed Stuy back in 2005, the food delivery options were slim. 2010 is a whole new world, baby! Now all we have to make for dinner is a phone call.
This may be common knowledge, but since we’re just reacquainting ourselves with the area, it’s all new to us. We googled food delivery in Bed Stuy and found Seamless Web. (Are we the last to know?) Just type in your address, any neighborhood, and see which restaurants deliver to your house. You can order online. No phone call is needed. Obviously, not all restaurants are there, just the ones set up with that service.
So, what restaurants deliver to 11216? BTW, these are the vegetarian friendly options. You’re on your own for cooked flesh.
We have been relying on Sushi Tatsu for a couple of years now and they have never let us down. (ie: no meat in our vegetarian dishes) They have a Japanese/Chinese mix and now feature an entire Thai menu. Also, a third location on Bedford.
Amin, Indian on Dekalb
Deniz, Turkish on Fulton
Food for Thought, veg friendly on Marcus Garvey
La Stalla, Mexican/Italian on Myrtle
Tiny Cup, cafe and lunch on Nostrand
Folukie, Caribbean on Bedford
Brooks Valley, Caribbean Southern on Tompkins (They were closed for awhile, but a neighbor said he saw that it had reopened.)

Bistro Lafayette (burgers, sandwiches, catfish). $10 minimum.
Brooks valley has indeed closed. it is now Peaches Hot House. i don’t think they deliver but the food is great.
Brooks Valley is closed. Peaches Hothouse is in its place: http://www.yelp.com/biz/peaches-hothouse-brooklyn
I have ordered delivery from these places to the 11216 area code:
Yamashiro sushi (VERY GOOD)

Udom Thai (just ok)

SOULE (love them)

Myrtle Thai & Fulton Thai (owned by the same family)
Wow, thanks! Soule…good to know.
I thought it was weird that Brooks Valley would close for awhile and then suddenly reopen. I should have known it was something else. Unfortunately, not a lot of veggie options for me. 🙁
What happened to toukaleur? I loved that place but the gate has been down for a while. I would like to remind everyone about Bushbaby on Fulton and Bedford. Great brunch, but they also serve lunch and dinner–lots of vegan options too. AND they are going to start serving wine and beer very soon. woo hoo
Yeah, Toukaleur closed. 🙁
I love Bushbaby. Didn’t realize they are open for dinner now.
[…] More food delivery options. Yeah, I’m all about the food. I covered the Bed Stuy delivery options in the past. More […]
hi, weighing in on this late but just in case anyone pings it in future… we live near the intersection of Fulton and Nostrand also and get delivery from the amazing CHAVELLAS at least once a week. We’re right on the edge of their delivery area though (they’re opening another a place on Franklin soon and I suspect they’ll expand the delivery area… Also, PILAR of Classon Ave near Lafayette apparently delivers in the evenings for a $20 minimum. Haven’t tried it yet (delivery that is, the food is awesome but I spoke to them in person about it. BTW, I like your blog, glad I discovered it.
Ooh, thanks for the info! I’m getting tired of the same old options.
You’re my neighbor! I live near Fulton/Nostrand too.
ha, I came back to get the Udom number and saw your reply — in the meantime decided to try for Pilar delivery tonight and they’ll be here in 30 minutes with my arroz con pollo! I noticed that you guys are in the same part of the hood. I’ve been here since 07, lived on Classon before, went to Pratt a while back… Good things happening around here. I like Ms Dahlias and am also totally looking forward to the wine shop 🙂
Before I forget, if you haven’t already, try Syd’s Serious Sandwich shop up Nostrand toward Eastern Pkway. He makes a damn great Philly style steak sandwich. Last time I was in there he said he was looking for a delivery person (thought he had one actually but it fell through so it’s imminent). Good to check out anyway though. Good stuff 🙂
I’m about to check out some of your delivery options. We’re vegetarians, so that cuts out more than half the places.
Wow, such a helpful web-site.
