Biodegradable Poopy Bags For Dog Walkers. There goes my excuse not to pick up when they go off the trail. See, I had good reasoning. The poop is biodegradable, so why waste a plastic bag? I’m not talking about city streets. I’m talking just off the trail upstate. Am I a bad person? Alternative Consumer

Dad Labor. Hallie in Hudson has a series of posts on all the work her father did when he came to visit. What a dynamo! As regular readers know, I just lost my own father back in May. But may I speak frankly? The man couldn’t even change a light bulb! (Seriously, my mom changed the bulbs.) My father would sit back and ask under his breath so nobody could hear him “Need help?” I’d like to adopt Hallie’s dad, please. Holy Hudson

Hi babe – thanks for mentioning my dad posts (my dad wll love it). I read all you blog entries when you were going through the loss of your father and I felt some serious sisterhood over the way you handled it (with lots of humor for one thing).
And now on a less serious note: Dog poop bags – listen, the blue bags that come on a roll at the pet store are also biodegradable. They are caled bio bags – they are cheap and pretty much available everywhere.

Thanks, H (May I call you H?) So, if we’re sisters, can you loan me your Dad for the weekend?

Hey, I use those blue bags! I didn’t know they were biodegradable. Duh…if I don’t read it on the internet, I don’t pay attention.

Certainly RH,
If you can lure him out from Montana he’s yours.
ps: a quick look at the label of the doggy bags says %100 biodegradable. but then I noticed the asterisk *except as defined by the state of California. That sets off my bulls*#t detector a teensie bit. But oh well…

pps: the black ones (brand name biobag – and they come in a box rather than a roll) are my personal faves as they have the addd bonus of not providing a see-through view of the turds you are transporting. A lovely feature if you ask me.
