I’m trying to get some Spring excitement going here. What’s more inspiring than planting a garden? Or if you live in an apartment….a window box or potted plant.
Since I don’t know a thing about plants (except how to kill and eat them), I’ll point you in the direction of some other fabbo blogs.

Spring Cleaning from The Bark Tree. Posted in March, but it’s still chilly, so good for April too. I guess.

One advantage for the environment to having a garden is to compost your food waste and use it in the garden instead of throwing in your garbage pail.
NYC and other municipalities will sell you a composting bin at a discount.
green thumb or not, where do you get those brackets for window boxes? i’ve seen the type that screw into the wall below the window, but i can’t seem to find the sort that sort of just hang over the window sill. somebody show me the way!
My husband deals with the compost. I’m to a)lazy and b)grossed out by it. But at least someone in our house does it!
Ask Maria at City Dirt about the brackets. I’ve never had a window box because it would look like the one in the top photo.
